Our opportunity: Zurich Insurance Group is looking for a Senior SAM Specialist who specializes in Microsoft enterprise software to join the global Software Asset Management team. The role's objective is to optimize software contract spend, manage compliance, analyze data, draw relevant conclusions, and collaborate with others to implement opportunities or remediate risks. This senior position requires a broad understanding of IT technology, service management processes, and the ability to work with various stakeholder groups within Zurich Group.

GTO Software Asset Management

The team comprises international SAM experts across five countries, managing a multi-million-dollar software portfolio and supporting IT stakeholders in achieving their objectives. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at a group-wide level, defining and implementing best practices in SAM, primarily within the Microsoft space.

Your Role

As a Software Asset Management Specialist, your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing subject matter expertise with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft operations, licensing, and product use rights for on-premises and cloud environments.
  2. Leveraging Microsoft billing, tracking, and measurement tools such as Azure Active Directory, CMDB, My Access, Intune, and ServiceNow.
  3. Ensuring transparency of software costs and fair allocation to business units and service owners based on usage.
  4. Negotiating with internal and external vendors, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and sharing information effectively.
  5. Driving initiatives for software savings, developing best practices, and ensuring compliance with budgets and contractual obligations.
  6. Managing complex software contract negotiations, liaising with legal, sourcing, and vendor teams.
Your Skills and Experience

Ideally, you will have:

  • Over 5 years of proven experience managing Microsoft software portfolios in enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience creating and managing Enterprise License Positions (ELPs) for server-based software, especially SQL and Windows.
  • Experience with Microsoft billing and tracking tools, advanced Excel skills, and P&L calculations.
  • Fluent English language skills (B2+ level).
  • Preferred experience with Flexera software.
