Join our highly skilled Site Reliability team. Our team designs, develops, and manages applications and infrastructure that support Akamai's Compute products and services. We focus on creating solutions to improve observability and enforce SLAs across all internal teams, while maintaining Akamai's mission to make life better for billions of people, billions of times a day.

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will create solutions to improve automation and efficiencies across teams. Your responsibilities include driving automation, operational excellence, and supporting customer-facing applications and infrastructure. This requires creative thinking and deep domain expertise in Linux systems administration, configuration management, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities of a Site Reliability Engineer II include :

• Defining requirements during the product lifecycle to influence design and standards.
• Collaborating with support, operations, and engineering teams to troubleshoot complex problems.
• Enhancing system monitoring and analysis platforms to speed error detection and improve performance and reliability.

What You Need to Succeed

• Demonstrate knowledge at least at LFCS certificate level (certificate not required but knowledge mandatory).
• Relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• High-level experience in Linux / Unix SysAdmin, DevOps, or Software engineering with large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with SaltStack or willingness to learn; knowledge of programming languages like Python or Golang; experience with Terraform is a plus.
• Experience in architecting software and infrastructure at scale.
