SITE MANAGER – EPCI INTERCONNECTOR CABLE Project SPAIN-FRANCE (Lemoniz)

Location: Construction site in Spain, near Lemoniz Project: EPCI power cable installation for the Spain-France interconnector Duration: Until January 2026, with possible extension in 2026 Languages: English mandatory; French and Spanish preferred Work schedule: 5/6 working days per week on-site
Overview: For one of our major clients, a leading cable manufacturer and installer, we are actively looking to hire a Site Manager with proven experience in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the execution of HDD and cable pull-in operations on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the main point of contact with the Customer and third parties for supervising the technical and operational aspects of pre-lay activities, HDD and pull-in activities related to the power cable system.
- Serve as the interface between the Customer, civil works contractors, and cable-laying subcontractors to plan activities, verify civil works execution, and inspect infrastructures.
- Supervise Civil works and HDD works to be done at site.
- Maintain a detailed daily record of site activities, ensuring subcontractors’ execution aligns with the submitted plan and contractual requirements.
- Oversee backfilling operations carried out by third-party companies, ensuring compliance with schedule, quality, and cable protection standards.
- Ensure proper site supervision, including resource management (personnel and assets), technical oversight, logistics, and HSE compliance.
- Guarantee adherence to internal rules and procedures throughout the entire process.
- Support the preparation of method statements and other necessary documentation in coordination with and under the supervision of the Installation Engineering team.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Strong ability to manage the technical and operational aspects of a project, including document review, understanding of drawings and procedures, and hands-on field experience.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide a team toward predefined objectives.
- Familiarity with Spanish regulations related to civil works/environmental associated with industrial project development would be a plus.
- Previous experience in onshore/offshore cable projects will be considered an important plus.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with Clients and subcontractors.
- Problem-solving mindset and goal-oriented approach, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks in coordination with Management.
- Quick learning ability and strong self-motivation.
- Proficiency in common software tools such as Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and Internet applications.
Languages: English (mandatory); French and Spanish (preferred).
Availability to spend extended periods on-site in Spain.
