Job summary

Humankind Recruitment is seeking a Services Infrastructure Manager in Madrid on a hybrid model (2 days onsite). This permanent role focuses on implementing the operating model and technical strategy for database and application services, including automation tooling and internal tools.

You will lead a distributed team, shape the platform roadmap, and own security, incident response, and ITIL-aligned processes. Strong technical credibility across databases and automation is essential.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing enterprise database and application environments.
• Proven track record leading geographically distributed technical teams.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL and SQL Server, including resilience, performance and disaster recovery.
• Hands-on automation experience with Ansible and/or Terraform.
• Experience with identity and authentication platforms.
• Experience with ITSM platforms and ITIL-style Incident, Problem and Change processes.
• Strong grasp of application and database security.

Responsibilities

• The team: Lead a distributed group of SMEs and engineers across regions; set standards and hire gaps.
• The databases: Oversee PostgreSQL, MySQL and SQL Server availability, performance and security.
• The applications: Manage Mattermost, Confluence, Jira, Keycloak and internal tools.
• Automation: Drive Ansible and Terraform usage to reduce manual work and drift.
• Major incidents: Lead technical response and prevent recurrence.
• Security and audit: Collaborate with InfoSec; ensure audit readiness.
• The roadmap: Define lifecycle, capacity, vendors and budget for the platform.

Our client are an IT consultancy with offices in Malaga and Madrid and operating on a global scale. They are looking to hire a technically credible Services Infrastructure Manager who will implement the operating model and technical strategy agreed by the SLT covering Database and application services. This will include databases, automation tooling, identity, service-management platforms and internal tools.

You’ll be the person turning strategy into a plan, challenge existing ways of working, driving automation and identifying skill gaps.

Here is what you'll own

• The team. Lead a distributed group of SMEs and engineers across regions. Set the standards, grow the talent, hire the gaps.
• The databases. PostgreSQL, MySQL and SQL Server. Availability, performance, security, recovery. All of it.
• The applications. Mattermost, Confluence, Jira, Keycloak, Password Manager Professional and HaloPSA. Plus the internal tools the business quietly depends on.
• Automation. Ansible and Terraform at the centre. Less manual work, less drift, more consistency.
• Major incidents. When it breaks, you lead the technical response. Then you make sure it doesn't break the same way twice.
• Security and audit. Work with InfoSec to keep it locked down and audit-ready.
• The roadmap. Lifecycle, capacity, vendors, budget. You'll shape where this platform goes next.

The Successful Services Infrastructure Manager will have:
