At The Roadmap, we’ve helped over 300 Irish businesses grow quickly, and now we’re expanding into the UK, Spain, and beyond. As our team grows, we’re seeking a skilled, experienced, and highly reliable Senior Web Developer to join our core website delivery team.

This role is a hybrid freelance position based in Madrid, requiring 2 days per week in our central Madrid office, with the remaining time working remotely. There is a clear pathway to transition into a full-time role with increased responsibilities and leadership opportunities over time.

You will work on a variety of websites, primarily WordPress and Shopify, bringing technical excellence, problem-solving skills, and long-term strategic thinking to each project.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Build and maintain websites on WordPress and Shopify
• Handle complex technical tasks, including integrations and performance improvements
• Provide clear, prompt support to internal teams and occasional client communication via managers
• Support hosting, domain transfers, backups, and email configurations
• Resolve technical issues swiftly and effectively to ensure timely project delivery
• Stay updated on modern web UI, automation tools, and AI applications in web development
• Collaborate with a stable, experienced team with 3-5+ years of shared experience

• Has 5+ years of hands-on web development experience, ideally 7-10 years
• Is fluent in WordPress and Shopify, with extensive client website experience
• Understands hosting platforms like Hostinger, SiteGround, and others, and can manage website deployment
• Communicates clearly and honestly, explaining technical issues without jargon
• Can work independently and as part of a long-term, collaborative team
• Delivers high-quality work without cutting corners or overcomplicating solutions
• Wants to grow within a team that values good work, trust, and integrity
