Senior Visual Designer / Senior Design System Designer

Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a UX Designer based in Spain for an initial 3 month contract.

Role 1 – Senior Visual Designer :

A Senior Visual Designer is a seasoned professional with exceptional skills across various visual design disciplines and a deep passion for crafting unforgettable user experiences.

The primary role is to collaborate closely with our Design System team, creating and refining visual artifacts that effectively communicate memorable experiences to users. This is achieved through a keen understanding of end-user needs and a commitment to design excellence.

Main Responsibilities :

• 5+ years of experience working as a Visual Designer on designing websites and digital products and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Preferably, you have previous experience working in a Design team (No marketing) as a Visual Designer.
• You will participate in the entire design process of the visuals for our Design System from initial research, ideation, conceptualization and design, to testing and validation.
• You will apply Human-Centered Design and Service Design Thinking approaches to guide the discovery and production of low-fidelity and high-fidelity deliverables.
• You will create Visual Design deliverables: such as visual compositions, hi-fi digital products mockups, UI prototypes, illustrations and imagery, and other materials relevant to the project challenge.
• Coordinate work activities with the Design System team and report to the Design System Lead.
• Communicate with stakeholders in the process of creating your outputs.

Key Skills :

• Deep understanding of the Visual and UX Design disciplines. Proven experience and knowledge on implementation and facilitation of the overall design process, using a variety of methodologies.
• Experience with industry standard design and research tools (Figma, Adobe CC, Miro, etc.).
• Experience in designing complex websites and digital products across an eco-system of products and services.
• Strong communications and organizational skills with the ability to deal with ambiguity while juggling multiple priorities.
• Experience with creating a project vision, execution, and overall quality.
• Experience in designing responsive and mobile digital products, both native and hybrid.
• Nice to have: Experience in designing icons, illustrations and other visual material that could be used in the digital products.

Role 2 - Senior Design System Designer :

Role Description

A Senior Design System Designer is a multi-faceted professional who combines elements of visual design, psychology, and technology to create seamless user experiences.

The main function of a Senior Design System Designer is to work on our Design System developing, creating, and modifying design components through an understanding of end-user needs.

Main Responsibilities :

• You will participate in the entire design process of our Design System from initial research, ideation, conceptualization and design, to testing and validation.
• You will plan and conduct Primary and Secondary Research. You will synthesize research and build insights, reframe problems, and provide recommendations that enable our teams to generate and iterate on new solutions.
• You will apply Human-Centered Design and Service Design Thinking approaches to guide the discovery and production of low-fidelity and high-fidelity deliverables.
• You will create Design System deliverables: such as DS components, low and hi fidelity UI prototypes. Components’ documentation and presentations among other materials relevant to the project challenge.
• Coordinate work activities with your digital team, Business teams, other IT services and as required.
• Communicate with stakeholders and the Development team in the process of creating our Design System.

Key Skills :

• 5+ years of experience working on a Design System and designing digital products & services as part of a multidisciplinary team. Preferably, you have previous experience working in a Design System team.
• Deep understanding of the UX Design discipline. Proven experience and knowledge on implementation and facilitation of the overall design process, using a variety of methodologies like: Process Mapping, User Journey Mapping, User Story Mapping, Wireframing, UI prototyping, User Testing, etc.
• Experience with industry standard design and research tools (Figma, Adobe CC, Miro, User testing, etc.).
• Experience in designing, building and managing a Design System across an eco-system of products and services.
• Strong communications and organizational skills with the ability to deal with ambiguity while juggling multiple priorities.
• Experience with Agile and SAFe methodology for teamwork and analytics ‘product’ creation. Fluent in Azure DevOps, Jira and/or Confluence.
• Experience with creating a project vision, execution, and overall quality.
• Experience with planning and conducting user research and user testing sessions including moderator guides to generate artifacts from synthesis.
