About the Role
The Senior Vessel Performance Analyst plays a crucial role in our Performance Analytics team. The primary responsibility is to develop methods, tools, and dashboards for data analysis, enabling informed decision-making based on Ship Performance Monitoring. The role reports to the Vessel Performance Manager. It works closely with our team to enhance performance monitoring tools through data processing, code building, visualization dashboard creation, and interpretation of results to provide actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop, maintain, and enhance vessel performance monitoring tools and analytics workflows.
· Implement and refine algorithms for accurate analysis of vessel behaviour and efficiency.
· Design and build interactive dashboards to clearly communicate key performance indicators.
· Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and operational anomalies.
· Translate technical insights into clear, practical recommendations to support decision-making.
· Collaborate across teams to validate models and integrate feedback into performance analytics tools.
Required competencies:
· Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline. PhD preferred
· +4 years of experience on similar roles.
· Strong understanding of marine hydrodynamics, ship resistance, propulsion, and vessel dynamics in seaway.
· Familiarity with numerical and statistical methods.
· Proficient in Python and MATLAB, with demonstrated experience in scientific computing and data analysis.
· Experience with data analytics and visualization tools.
· Comfortable working independently in a dynamic environment with multiple concurrent projects.
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex results to both technical and non-technical.
