Job summary

Indra Group is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Barcelona to lead the architecture definition and interfaces for mission data encryption solutions in space and defence programmes.

You will define system requirements, oversee technical reviews, and coordinate with cross-functional teams on satellite navigation, communications, and secure mission systems. Experience in encryption, cryptology, and ECSS standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience as a Systems Engineer in encryption systems, security modules or secure mission-critical products in space/defence.
• Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering methods including V-Cycle and Agile approaches.
• Solid background in cryptology and secure communications systems.
• Experience with ECSS standards and requirements tools such as Polarion and/or DOORS.
• Working knowledge of Linux, Python, Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Define system requirements and interfaces for mission data encryption products.
• Monitor the technical development and manufacturing through milestones and technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, TRB, QR).
• Define and track technical KPIs to ensure programme objectives.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation throughout the system lifecycle.
• Perform critical reviews of technical documentation from development teams.
• Analyse anomalies and non-conformities, ensuring corrective actions.
• Manage traceability between requirements, design, SOCs and verification results.
• Coordinate with Systems Engineers, Project Managers and Quality teams.
• Support technical risk management activities across the programme.

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with experience in the development of encryption systems and security modules for complex space and defence programmes, specialising in the definition of product architecture and interfaces for mission data encryption solutions, to join projects focused on satellite navigation, communications, signal processing and secure mission systems.

What will you do?

• Define system requirements and interfaces for mission data encryption products.
• Monitor the technical development and manufacturing of the product through project milestones and technical reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, TRB and QR.
• Define and track technical KPIs to ensure compliance with programme objectives.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation throughout the system lifecycle.
• Perform critical reviews of technical documentation produced by development teams.
• Analyse anomalies, incidents and non-conformities, ensuring appropriate corrective actions.
• Manage traceability between requirements, design, Statements of Compliance and verification results.
• Coordinate with Systems Engineers, Project Managers and Quality teams.
• Support technical risk management activities across the programme.

• Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering methodologies, including V-Cycle and/or Agile approaches.

• Experience with ECSS standards and requirements management tools such as Polarion and/or DOORS.
• Working knowledge of Linux, Python, Jira and Confluence.
