Project Description :

Application Modernization Practice is a horizontal practice supporting all business verticals in Luxoft.

We are seeking a Senior System Analyst capable of working across different domain zones.

Our goal for this project is to migrate a legacy system written in HLASM (High-Level Assembler) from the mainframe to a cloud-based Java environment for a major US bank.

Responsibilities :

1. Develop, analyze, prioritize, and organize requirement specifications, data mapping, diagrams, and flowcharts for developers and testers.
2. Reverse engineer the design, requirement specifications, and functions of a system from its code (currently High-Level Assembler, with Cobol in the near future).
3. Translate non-technical requirements into clear technical specifications.
4. Convert low-level code descriptions into meaningful functional requirements.
5. Organize requirements into features and user stories.
6. Maintain the system and project knowledge base.
7. Participate in optimizing internal team processes.

Mandatory Skills :

• Ability to analyze High-Level Assembler code to reverse engineer requirements.
• Proficiency in documenting in English for a native-speaking audience.
• Capability to enhance requirements with models and diagrams as needed.
• At least 3 years of experience in a Business Analyst / System Analyst role.
• Strong analytical mindset.
• Understanding of various requirement types and their representations.
• Good grasp of non-functional requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both business and technical languages.
• High seniority level when handling complex tasks.
• Experience analyzing and documenting integrations.
• Experience working with international stakeholders (USA, UK).
• Knowledge of analytical tools such as functional/non-functional requirements, use cases, user stories, UML.

Nice-to-Have Skills :

• Experience with IBM z/OS mainframe.
• Understanding of IBM High-Level Assembler and COBOL.
• Experience with microservices architecture and message brokers.
