Santander Auto Software is an exciting new greenfield programme currently in its early stages. We are building a brand-new, state-of-the-art software platform and product suite for the auto finance industry, which will be rolled out across Europe.

The business is 100% tech-focused, remote-first, and comprised of skilled cross-border software developers, led by a team with accomplished backgrounds.

More importantly, you will share equally in the results produced by the software you help build and evolve. This role offers significant responsibility, reflecting the integral role of technology in our lives. As software builders, we are excited to co-own the results, not just the effort.

We are seeking skilled back-end focused software engineers experienced with Java (or Kotlin), Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and AWS, who have worked in a software-on-demand production environment. You will build cloud-native, AWS-based, greenfield software and have the time and support to invent solutions to a wide variety of user, business, and technical challenges. Our roles are unique; your software will not be cut-and-paste or merely integrated. We operate a 'build it and own it' culture, and you will have a DevOps and individual contributor mindset.

Responsibilities include:

1. Software development in Java (Spring Boot) or Kotlin — design, build, and deploy.
2. Production deployment experience working with AWS.
3. Experience with automated build and test systems for CI/CD (using Docker, Jenkins, etc.).
4. Experience with true Agile practices and a DevOps mindset.

These will be key hires for back-end squads and will help shape this area of the business for scale. You will be a vital member of a fast-growing global team.
