Details of the role and how it fits into the team

The candidate will design and develop application code, implement technical solutions, and configure applications to meet business needs. They will participate in the technical design and architecture of applications or components, propose suitable solutions, and promote reusability of existing components within a collaborative environment.

The candidate should possess deep knowledge of the systems and applications they manage, handle changes effectively, and collaborate on technical analysis, implementation, and testing of approved projects. They will also participate in application maintenance tasks.

The role involves working on applications based on mainframe technology (Cobol / Cics / DB2).

Your key responsibilities

• Technical design, programming, and testing
• Handling new projects, enhancements, and maintenance for specific applications
• Ensuring IT Application Life Cycle standards are followed during ongoing enhancements and maintenance
• Aligning application changes with strategy and technology roadmaps
• Managing risks and issues related to applications
• Maximizing operational availability and stability
• Ensuring cost efficiency

Your skills and experiences

• Proficiency in English and Spanish (advanced level required)
• Knowledge of systems and end-to-end processes
• Experience in Cobol / Cics / DB2 analysis and programming
• Understanding of application solutions from a technological perspective, including key aspects of platforms and infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of software engineering, design patterns, and architecture
• Development background with experience as an analyst
• Experience analyzing existing systems from architecture to code review
• Experience creating technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and use cases
• DevOps-oriented mindset
• Experience with testing and QA tools
• Ability to understand complex business processes and workflows
• Teamwork skills with multidisciplinary teams
