Senior Software Engineer - Full Time - Madrid, Spain

Sulzer is seeking a highly skilled and experienced software engineer to join our team in Spain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, specifically with experience in Python, .NET, SQL Server, Angular, and Azure cloud technologies. This role involves both hands-on development and leadership responsibilities, building up a team of talented software engineers to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

1. Architecture Design: Lead the design and development of scalable, robust, and secure software solutions using Python, .NET, SQL Server, Angular, and Azure.
2. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Ultimately responsible for the team delivery.
3. Hands-on Development: Participate actively in coding, debugging, and reviewing code to ensure high-quality software development.
4. Project Management: Oversee product roadmaps, ensuring on-time delivery of solutions within budget and scope. Carry the role of Scrum Master.
5. Technical Expertise: Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices, implementing them to enhance our software solutions.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and operations, to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
7. Problem Solving: Address technical challenges, troubleshoot issues, and provide effective solutions to complex problems.
8. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, design decisions, and product progress.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

1. Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
2. Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
3. Technical Skills:
   1. Proficiency in .NET for backend development. Bonus if you are also familiar with Python and Machine Learning.
   2. Experience with SQL Server for database management.
   3. Strong knowledge of Angular for frontend development.
   4. Expertise in Azure cloud services and deployment of containers.
4. Leadership Abilities: Proven track record of leading and mentoring software development teams.
5. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
6. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and accustomed to work in Agile/Scrum setup.
7. Agility: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
