I’m working with an organisation that is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a strong DevOps background. They need someone with 8+ years of experience who can hit the ground running!

Role: Senior Software Engineer – Java & DevOps

Salary: €65k+ (based on experience)

Location: Madrid – Hybrid (2 days onsite)

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join an Engineering team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of large-scale, resilient, and scalable distributed services, processing billions of events using modern cloud-native technologies. Your expertise will drive reliability, scalability, and performance across the engineering and DevOps landscape.

Experience needed

• 8+ years of experience as a Software / DevOps Engineer, working in cloud application environments.
• Strong expertise in Core Java (8+) and scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
• Deep knowledge of system architecture, networking concepts, and scalable system design.
• Proficiency with CI / CD pipelines and automated build systems (e.g., Jenkins, ArgoCD).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CrossPlane, and Packer.
• Expertise in containerization & orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of Linux administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring & logging frameworks (e.g., Prometheus, ELK Stack).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
