About the Role

Scopely is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer (Platform) to join our upcoming project, based in Dublin, the UK, Portugal, or Barcelona. The position offers remote or hybrid work options, with three days a week onsite.

At Scopely, we are passionate about creating engaging experiences for a global community of players. We are developing an ambitious, cross-platform Strategy / MMO game, and looking for talented game makers to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend systems for our Game LiveOps platform, working closely with product teams, designers, and engineers to deliver high-performance, real-time tools.
  • Build full stack web applications and internal tools, covering front-end UI / UX and backend APIs.
  • Support live game operations by developing features that enable real-time control and insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, plan solutions, and ensure successful deployments.
  • Design scalable, low-latency web services in cloud environments (preferably AWS).
  • Contribute to CI / CD pipelines, automated testing, and uphold high code quality standards.
  • Utilize containerization (Docker) and infrastructure-as-code practices for reliable deployment.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning to foster continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Several years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong foundation in programming and web development.
  • Proficiency in modern backend languages (Python preferred; Go or C# a plus).
  • Solid understanding of web technologies, RESTful services, and frameworks like Vue.js or Angular.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud services (AWS preferred), along with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Ability to set up and maintain CI / CD pipelines, automated tests, and load testing.
  • Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
  • Strong communication skills, able to discuss complex technical concepts with diverse teams.
