Job summary

IDOM is seeking a senior systems specialist to lead the design, integration and delivery of telecom, control, and cybersecurity systems for major railway programmes in Madrid. The role requires hands-on leadership across the full lifecycle, coordinating with civil, signalling, power and rolling stock teams.

You will drive technical reviews, manage interfaces with clients and contractors, and mentor engineers while ensuring compliance with international standards.

Qualifications

• 12–15+ years of railway telecom and control systems experience.
• Proven delivery of large-scale railway projects.
• Experience across the full lifecycle: design to commissioning.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and integration of telecom and control systems.
• Oversee subsystems such as CCTV, SCADA, PA, PIS, OCC, WiFi, GSM-R/FRMCS, and cybersecurity.
• Coordinate interfaces with signalling, traction power, civil and rolling stock.
• Lead technical reviews, assurance and validation.
• Support construction, installation, testing and commissioning on site.
• Mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams.
