A major pharmaceutical client is seeking a seasoned Qlik Sense Architect who will lead a team and oversee the migration of applications from Qlik Sense to Power BI. This largely remote role includes responsibilities for designing BI solutions, managing project deliverables, and ensuring high-quality performance across applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Qlik Sense development and proven leadership abilities.

Sentinel is working with a major pharmaceutical client, seeking a seasoned Qlik Sense Architect with extensive experience in BI solution design, development, and deployment.

In this role, you will lead a small team of Qlik Sense developers while managing project deliverables and strategically overseeing the gradual migration of our applications from Qlik Sense to Power BI. You will leverage your in-depth technical knowledge and leadership skills to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and maintain the highest standards of quality across our BI applications. The role can be done largely remotely but would require some time on site in either Barcelona or Prague - depending on your location.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect end-to-end BI solutions using Qlik Sense, focusing on data modeling, scripting, and complex visualizations.
• Establish best practices and frameworks to optimize ETL processes and overall system performance.
• Lead and mentor a team of junior Qlik Sense developers, managing project plans, allocating tasks, and ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables.
• Oversee the gradual migration of existing BI applications from Qlik Sense to Power BI, applying your experience with both platforms to ensure a smooth transition.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions, creating clear project scopes, milestones, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align project goals, manage expectations, and communicate progress effectively.
• Lead the change management process in line with organisational guidelines, ensuring thorough documentation, communication, and training for successful adoption.
• Work closely with various IT and data teams to integrate coherent data sources and maintain data quality across platforms.
• Oversee unit testing and user acceptance testing to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring robust and reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of extensive Qlik Sense development and architecture experience, demonstrated by a strong portfolio of successful projects.
• Proven leadership experience in managing teams and complex BI projects.
• Solid knowledge of SQL, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, particularly in architecture and migration strategies.
• Familiarity with financial systems such as SAP is a plus.
