Senior QA Manufacturing Lead – Space Systems & AIT

Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space SAU is seeking a QA Lead to guide a team of QA engineers across assembly, integration, and test phases in aerospace projects. You will act as the central point for quality matters among Manufacturing Engineering, Materials, and AIT teams, coordinating inspections and reviews.

The role requires strong leadership, Spanish (C1) and English proficiency, and a track record in space-quality domains. Permanent contract with exposure to multiple space programs.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent in Physics or Chemistry.
• At least 5 years of experience in the quality domain for space sector projects.
• Experience coordinating people.
• Languages: fluent in Spanish (C1) and English.
• Objectives oriented.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the team of QA engineers.
• Acting as focal point of QA engineers towards other areas.
• Reporting to Head of Quality Plant.
• Preparation of executive summaries and KPIs.
• Harmonization of activities and practices within QA team.
• Promote a preventive quality mindset within production/AIT teams and ensure implementation of basic quality processes.
• Ensure QA team provides quality documentation for projects (QAP, QCP, inspection reports).
• Coordinate subcontracted inspections in the cleanroom (priorities).
• Consolidate QA budget and estimate QA resources for projects.
• QA in production areas including satellites and aerostructures for launchers.
• Identify measures to reduce cost of quality (less inspections, sampling).
• Part-time to perform QA operative work with main responsibilities: contact for quality matters, coordinate inspections, manage non-conformities, organize IRRs.
