Job summary

Fliff is building data-driven sports gaming platforms with real-time data pipelines and a focus on correctness, observability, and resilience. We seek a Senior Python Engineer to own core backend systems.

You will work on sports data ingestion, transformation, and distribution, collaborating across squads to ensure timely, accurate data feeds and reliable data flows for the Fliff ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production Python experience.
• Experience building backend services in production.
• Solid Django experience with asyncio.
• Production experience with Apache Kafka.
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL skills.
• Experience with external APIs and data providers.
• Ability to reason about data correctness and edge cases.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
• Strong communication and code-review skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python services for sports data ingestion, transformation, and distribution.
• Integrate with third-party data providers and handle differences between provider models and update patterns.
• Build reliable pipelines for near real-time and batch data processing.
• Improve data validation, reconciliation, monitoring, alerting, and replay tooling.
• Work on domain models for events, competitions, participants, markets, odds, scores, and related entities.
• Collaborate with backend, product, QA, and platform teams to deliver dependable data flows.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and mentoring within the squad.
