Overview

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager in the European Union.

The Senior Project Manager will oversee strategic projects and tender processes in the governance sector, ensuring successful delivery and compliance with EU regulations. This role involves managing a small team, mentoring project staff, and independently coordinating project activities while maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships. You will contribute to the strategic vision of the organization, drive initiatives forward, and consolidate institutional knowledge. The position requires occasional travel for project implementation or business development. Accountabilities
  • Lead and manage strategic governance projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
  • Coordinate the preparation of tenders, managing complex projects independently
  • Supervise a small team of project staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and on-the-job training
  • Act as primary contact with clients, donors, and contracting authorities, fostering strong relationships
  • Undertake field missions and travel (approximately 20% of working time) to support project execution and business development
  • Consolidate, develop, and capitalize on existing organizational knowledge and expertise
  • Represent the organization externally, enhancing its image and reputation
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Relations, EU Studies, Social Sciences, or Public Policy; Master's or postgraduate qualifications are an asset
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in international cooperation and development, preferably in the governance sector
  • Strong understanding of EU guidelines, PRAG requirements, and project management best practices
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in English and either Spanish or French; multilingual skills are advantageous
  • Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently, make autonomous decisions, and prioritize tasks effectively
