About the Role

We are exclusively mandated on a landmark $1.5 billion oil drilling project currently under construction in Texas. Our client is seeking a Senior Project Finance Director to lead the structuring, execution, and coordination of all financing activities across Europe and the US. You will play a pivotal role in liaising with a diverse group of stakeholders, including European banks, international lenders, legal teams (internal & external), technical advisors, and project sponsors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the structuring and execution of project financing activities (debt/equity) in Europe and the US.
2. Act as the primary point of contact for all financial counterparties including European banks, DFIs, ECAs, and private lenders.
3. Coordinate across legal, technical, and financial workstreams to ensure smooth execution of financing and construction timelines.
4. Manage financial modeling, sensitivity analysis, and risk mitigation strategies.
5. Oversee due diligence processes and negotiate key project finance documentation (term sheets, loan agreements, intercreditor agreements, etc.).
6. Report to senior leadership and sponsors on financing progress, risks, and key milestones.
7. Interface with EPC contractors and internal engineering teams to align financing structure with project needs.

Ideal Candidate Profile

1. 10+ years of experience in project finance, preferably in the energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors.
2. Proven track record of managing large-scale project financings (USD 500m+).
3. Experience working with both European (especially Hungarian/Polish) and US financial institutions.
4. Deep understanding of legal and technical coordination in project finance environments.
5. Strong network with banks, DFIs, ECAs, and legal firms active in project finance.
6. Excellent project management, stakeholder coordination, and communication skills.
7. Willingness to travel regularly across Europe and the US.
