Support Engineer for Body Components Development

Your responsibilities:

  1. Support and coordinate the development of body components (BIW, closures, exterior & interior trim) during the product development phase.
  2. Collaborate with design, simulation, testing, and manufacturing teams to ensure technical feasibility and design robustness.
  3. Maintain awareness of project milestones and deadlines by regular communication with the Project Lead.
  4. Prepare essential documentation such as Technical Specifications, DFMEA, and DVP, considering lead time and cost.
  5. Handle engineering change requests and support the release process in PLM systems.
  6. Follow up technically with suppliers involved in projects to gather information on lead times, part availability, and costs.
  7. Conduct weekly meetings with suppliers to track progress and achieve manufacturing (DFM) goals.
  8. Ensure component performance, manufacturability, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
  9. Provide technical input for cost, weight, and material optimization.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in developing body components and systems.
  • Knowledge of mechatronics and kinematics, especially applied to closures and moving components.
  • Understanding of vehicle safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in CATIA for 3D design and integration.
  • Experience with PLM systems (SAP) and MS Office tools.
  • Soft skills: International mindset, analytical skills, hardworking, team spirit, communication skills, decision-making capabilities, proactivity, and self-motivation.
  • Availability for travel: 50% in Barcelona, 50% at customer sites across Europe.
