  As a Senior Product Engineer at Oliva, you'll be at the intersection of product innovation and advanced AI. You will play a key role in developing our mental health solutions, translating user needs and AI capabilities into scalable features. You will have ownership across the entire development process, from ideation and prototyping to deployment and iteration. You will collaborate closely with product and design teams, acting as a technical voice in shaping our AI-powered features. Your work will span our full tech stack, directly influencing user experience and well-being. Ideally, you will be based in Barcelona or London, but we are open to remote candidates within Spain or the UK who are willing to travel.

  You will make an impact in the following areas:

  Architecting & Building Scalable Backends:

  Design and implement cloud-native backend systems (AWS Lambdas, PostgreSQL Aurora) supporting thousands of users, primarily using TypeScript, GraphQL (Nexus, Apollo Server, Relay), and FastAPI in Python.

  Developing Frontend Experiences:

  Use modern frameworks (React, React Native, NextJS) and design systems (TailwindCSS) to create high-performance, user-friendly interfaces in TypeScript.

  Integrating AI Capabilities:

  Explore and incorporate LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude, open-source models) and frameworks (e.g., LangChain) for sophisticated AI interactions with memory, planning, and tools.

  Designing Data Flows:

  Use graph databases (e.g., Neo4j) to structure information for enhanced AI reasoning.

  Building Adaptive AI Systems:

  Develop systems that combine generative AI with real user data to create personalized experiences, using Python for AI integrations.

  Ensuring Data Privacy & Security:

  Maintain high standards of security and privacy to protect sensitive user data.

  Collaborating Cross-Functionally:

  Work with design and product teams to prototype, iterate, and align solutions with user needs and business goals.

  Ensuring Application Quality:

  Implement testing strategies (unit, integration, e2e with Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright) to ensure reliability and performance.

  Fostering Engineering Excellence:

  Promote a strong engineering culture through Agile practices, documentation, testing, and CI/CD.

  Who You Are

  You are a versatile Full-Stack Engineer with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software in production. You thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments and are comfortable with ambiguity. You have a strong interest in AI, especially LLMs, with experience exploring or experimenting with AI/ML tools (APIs, prototypes, open-source projects). You are eager to use these technologies to build meaningful, user-centric solutions. You are motivated by creating products that positively impact mental well-being, not just another SaaS role.

  Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, APIs, and AI/ML experimentation.
  • Experience working in startup or scaleup environments, shipping production software in agile teams.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript across the full stack.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Experience building modern UIs with React (React Native a plus), using design systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and cloud-native development.
  • Understanding of secure system design, especially handling sensitive data.
  • Ability to translate AI concepts into product features, integrating relevant APIs and frameworks.
  • Pragmatic, independent problem-solving approach.
  • Familiarity with Python for AI tasks or eagerness to learn quickly.
  • Based in the UK or Spain, willing to travel and visit offices twice a week if near London or Barcelona.
