Job summary

LocalStack, the Local Cloud Sandbox for Developers and AI Agents, is seeking a senior data analytics lead to shape our product analytics strategy across Emulator, CLI, VS Code extension, web app and docs. You’ll connect fragmented data and user identities to understand behavior, conversion, expansion and churn.

You will work with technical teams to prioritize build vs buy, establish analytics foundations, and turn usage data into actionable insights that inform pricing, packaging and growth.

Qualifications

7+ years in data analytics with focus on product analytics.
Experience modelling a unified system and architecture thinking.
Strong SQL and Python skills.
Experience with web/product analytics tools.
Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools for rapid prototyping.

Responsibilities

Build and evangelise product analytics foundations delivering insights for GTM, Finance, Marketing, Product and Engineering.
Link user journeys across the Emulator, CLI, VS Code extension, docs and website for a 360° customer view.
Translate datasets into clear strategic recommendations that drive actions and outcomes.
Collaborate with technical teams to enhance data flows and enrichment for analytics vision.
Develop insights to demonstrate ROI and value proposition for customers.

About the role

Data is highly valued at LocalStack, and this role is an opportunity to shape our product analytics strategy as we scale. You’ll connect fragmented data and user identities across the Emulator, CLI, VS Code extension, web app and docs, using rich product telemetry to understand how behaviour drives conversion, expansion and churn. You’ll help define what we build versus buy, establish better product analytics foundations, and turn usage data into insights that inform pricing, packaging and growth decisions. You’ll work closely with highly technical teams and have significant ownership in shaping how product analytics, data tooling and AI-assisted ways of working evolve at LocalStack.

We Expect you to accomplish in this role:

Build and evangelise product analytics foundations, delivering actionable insight for GTM, Finance, Marketing, Product and Engineering teams on how the product is being bought and used (across PLG and SLG channels)

Connect the user journey across the Emulator, CLI, VS Code extension, console, docs site, website, offering a 360 degree customer view view into customer behaviour (for all types: human, CI, AI agent) and composites (e.g. human + AI)

Translate complex datasets into clear insights with strategic recommendations that drive measurable actions and outcomes that impact the product success

Understand how data currently flows at LocalStack and work with technical teams to develop enrichment to deliver the product analytics vision

Develop insights that prove out the value proposition / ROI for customers in collaboration with customers and customer facing teams

Specialist Skills/ Experience

7+ years in data analytics role with a strong focus on product analytics

Experience modelling a unified system, showcasing architecture level thinking

Strong experience with complex SQL and ideally programming languages such as Python.

Experience with web and product analytics tools such as Posthog, GA4, Segment, RudderStack, Heap, Amplitude, Contentsquare, or equivalent

Experience using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to quickly prototype and iterate across analysis, data modeling, instrumentation, visualization and code development.
