Role Overview

The Sr. Analyst Pricing supports the Infrastructure Pricing Manager by implementing improvement initiatives aligned with Kennametal’s strategic objectives. The role involves analyzing pricing issues, developing solutions, and implementing preventive measures. It requires strong cross-functional collaboration with regional sales, leadership, global product management, and customer service teams.

Team Focus

The Infrastructure Pricing Team drives value-based pricing strategies, conducts market analysis, and manages global pricing processes for standard and custom products and services. The team collaborates with product management, sales, and regional leaders to support strategic goals.

Responsibilities
  1. Understand pricing rules and processes across Infrastructure locations.
  2. Assess pricing requests for compliance with business guidelines.
  3. Develop and maintain customer price models.
  4. Conduct pricing and profitability analyses to support margin goals.
  5. Apply pricing policies consistently and explain decisions thoroughly.
  6. Investigate pricing discrepancies and propose solutions.
  7. Evaluate list prices, discounts, concessions, and contractual obligations for optimization.
  8. Analyze price and margin performance reports.
  9. Provide pricing support for projects and teams.
  10. Resolve pricing discrepancies to improve customer satisfaction.
  11. Maintain and improve pricing data integrity.
  12. Contribute to the design of new pricing systems and reports.
  13. Test new solutions and lead cross-functional training for implementation.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, math, or statistics with 3-5 years of experience.
  2. Strong data analysis skills with the ability to identify trends in large datasets.
  3. Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and in global teams.
  4. Results-driven with a focus on ethical and safe work practices.
  5. Excellent communication, decision-making, and business acumen.
  6. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros) and familiarity with Office 365, Power BI.
  7. Knowledge of data modeling and pricing tools.
  8. Experience in pricing, profitability analysis, or product management in B2B industries.
  9. Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  10. Experience in project management.
