The Sr. Analyst Pricing will support the Infrastructure Pricing Manager in implementing improvement opportunities supporting Kennametal’s Infrastructure organization. The role involves analysis to troubleshoot pricing issues, identify and implement solutions, and establish preventive measures to sustain improvements. It requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Regional Sales, Leadership, Global Product Management, and Customer Service teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop understanding of pricing rules and processes across Infrastructure locations.
  • Proactively assess pricing requests to ensure compliance with business guidelines.
  • Understand, develop, and maintain customer price models.
  • Conduct pricing and profitability analysis to support margin goals.
  • Apply pricing rules consistently, provide explanations, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assess pricing elements like list price, discounts, concessions, and contractual obligations for optimization.
  • Analyze price and margin performance reports.
  • Support pricing projects and teams.
  • Resolve pricing discrepancies to improve customer satisfaction and compliance.
  • Maintain and improve pricing data integrity.
  • Participate in designing new pricing systems, processes, and reports.
  • Test new solutions and lead training for successful implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or math / statistics with 3-5 years of experience.
  • Strong data analysis skills to identify trends in large datasets.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently and in global teams.
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-sensitive, with problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record of results, maintaining an ethical and safe work environment.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making skills, and business acumen.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros) and knowledge of Office 365, Power BI.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and pricing tools.
  • Experience in pricing, profitability analysis, or product management in B2B industries.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience in project management.
