Formación

The Role

This administrator will be a subject matter expert responsible for the operational health, performance, and governance of the core components of our modern data stack, built on Microsoft Azure. The role focuses on the administration, optimisation, and security of our:

• Fivetran
• Kafka
• Streaming platform
• Airflow orchestration environment
• Snowflake data warehouse

ensuring a reliable and efficient environment for all data operations.

Requirements

• Administer the Snowflake data warehouse (on Azure), including user/role management, resource monitoring, cost optimisation, and security controls.
• Manage and operate the Kafka / Confluent Cloud platform, including topic management, cluster health monitoring, and ensuring reliable real-time data streams.
• Administer the Fivetran platform, managing connectors, monitoring data pipelines, and ensuring reliable integration.
• Manage and operate the Airflow environment, including deploying DAGs, managing connections, and monitoring health and workflows.
• Govern the Azure Data Lake (ADLS Gen2): manage access controls (IAM), storage policies, and ensure it functions as a reliable landing zone.
• Act as the technical point of contact for platform issues, liaising with security, network, and infrastructure teams within Azure.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience:

• Solid experience in Data Platform Administration, Data Operations, or as a Data Engineer within Azure.

Azure Ecosystem:

• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Networking (VNet, NSGs, Private Endpoints).

Platform Expertise:

• Administrative experience with Snowflake, Kafka, Fivetran, and Airflow.

Technical Skills:

• Strong SQL, scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash), and experience with orchestration tools like Airflow.

Industry:

• Experience in Insurance or Financial Services is advantageous.
