About the role

First things first : this role involves helping us build a modern cloud platform that allows Mews engineering teams to efficiently deliver products to customers. The platform will streamline the journey to production, integrating security, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, logging, monitoring, and alerting.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it :

• Build an opinionated cloud platform to enable engineering teams to develop their products safely and efficiently without needing expertise in all cloud services.
• Promote a "you build it, you run it" culture, empowering teams rather than doing everything for them.
• Develop and deploy reliable, resilient, and scalable cloud resources using infrastructure as code.
• Ensure the stability and resilience of production systems and support teams in maintaining their services.
• Create CI/CD pipelines to facilitate quick and safe software delivery.
• Partner with teams to migrate and modernize existing products onto the new platform.

Ideal candidate profile

Experience in cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code is essential. Candidates should be proficient in at least two or three technical areas listed below and have some familiarity with others:

• Cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP experience welcome)
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi, AWS CDK)
• Observability (monitoring, logs, metrics, traces)
• CI/CD pipelines
• Incident response and root cause analysis
• Software development (C#, Python, Golang)
• Security best practices
• Relational databases
• Networking and DNS
• Messaging systems (Azure Service Bus, Kafka)
