We are currently hiring on behalf of our client, a leading global container liner company, for the position of Senior Executive Operations in Barcelona, Spain.

Industry : Container Shipping

Reporting to : Operations Manager

Main Tasks and Responsibilities :

Vessel Operations

  • Inform about planned operational schedule changes, provide related documents, and support the vessel and crew.
  • Check and share berthing window prospects and actual schedules with Lines and Stakeholders.
  • Negotiate berthing schedules with the terminal if necessary.
  • Order gangs / cranes and communicate call sequences.
  • Coordinate vessel husbandry and stevedoring services.
  • Order and monitor supply and other services (e.g., cash to master, sludge).
  • Provide cargo documentation to the vessel.
  • Coordinate services including mooring, bunkering, and departure.
  • Generate reports according to deadlines.
  • Manage and monitor terminal services and vessel sailing.
  • Alert relevant parties in case of incidents.
  • Monitor procurement, ongoing operations, productivity, waiting time, and idle time, focusing on continuous improvements.
  • Manage special events like holds, customs inspections, damages, reefers, and COD.
  • Coordinate POL loadings and inform Cargo Flow for prechecks.
  • Follow-up on loading instructions and cargo operations.
  • Prepare and provide cargo documentation and load lists.
  • Manage cargo shortfalls and communicate with customs.

Post-Sailing Activities

  • Investigate discrepancies between Port Completion Reports and invoices.
  • Handle local and auxiliary tasks.

Required Work Experience

  • 10-15 years in relevant field.
  • Experience in Port Community Services (PCS).
