Job summary

Idneo in Mollet del Vallès (Barcelona) is seeking a Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer for its Medtech Business Unit. You will research, conceptualize, and design complex automation solutions for medical and IVD devices, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and interacting with clients to ensure successful project outcomes.

The role covers the full product lifecycle, emphasizing regulatory compliance, manufacturability, and mass production readiness.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
+10 years experience in complex mechanical engineering products and automation.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
Experience in Medical Device developments according to Medtech Regulatory (MDR, IVDR) will be a plus.

Responsibilities

Investigate concepts and propose solutions for complex Medical Devices & In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) technology challenges.
Design automation concepts using both catalogue and custom mechanisms.
Develop Medical Devices throughout the product lifecycle using mechanical engineering concepts, simulation tools (FEA/CFD), and research techniques.
Support integration of mechanical components at subsystem & product level, coordinating with System, Electronics and Software teams.
Drive industrialization of product designs for Mass Production (low-to-mid volumes).
Define test plans for product design verification and apply statistical analysis for test results.
Collaborate with customers regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
