Formación

  • Más de 10 años de experiencia en la industria aeroespacial.
  • Conocimientos en el ciclo de vida de Ingeniería de Sistemas.

Job Description:

ARQUIMEA SPACE develops spaceflight parts and equipment for satellites and launchers. We specialize in thermal control systems, structural panels, optical payloads, avionics, release and deployment mechanisms, and rad-hard microelectronics. Together with our tech partners, we provide high-throughput smallsats and their subsystems. Our brand-new factory in Madrid is suited to integrate satellites and constellations.

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to take responsibility for leading the technical development cycle of mechanical structures for satellites, including satellite constellations, covering all the product lifecycle from conception to serial production.

Tasks to be performed:

  • Understand user/market needs and produce detailed technical specifications accordingly.
  • Technical leadership on mechanical structures development projects.
  • Define technical development strategies, in close collaboration with Project Managers and the technical team.
  • Define top-level architectures and interfaces for the products under development.
  • Coordinate the technical development with specialists in different engineering areas and identify cross-area needs.
  • Coordinate key technical designs and analyses.
  • Define technical strategies and requirements focused on a design to build philosophy oriented to high production, assembly, and testing ratios.
  • Complete trade-offs and preliminary concept designs, feasibility analyses, identify critical areas and prepare plans for mitigation.
  • Lead project technical design, analysis, production, verification, and validation during development.
  • Author clear and concise technical reports and processes, demonstrating a clear understanding of design, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Support test campaigns and definition of early prototypes for validation (stress, thermal, radiation, electrical, manufacturing, test, etc.) according to space standards.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer working relationships.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to identify potential needs and requirements.
  • Assist in preparation of technical elements for bids and proposals.

Required skills, experience, and candidate profile:

  • Degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial...) with relevant experience in the Space industry.
  • At least 10 years’ proven experience working in the aerospace industry.
  • Systems Engineering lifecycle knowledge and experience.
  • Experience leading development plans for mechanical systems.
  • Hands-on design experience of 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks) and other engineering tools.
  • Experience with Finite Element Method. Experience with Nastran/Patran will be highly valued.
  • Experience with different analyses tools, such as kinematic analyses tools, data analysis, etc. is desirable.
  • Experience in verification and validation processes, including environmental and functional testing.
  • Experience in MAIT campaigns at satellite or system level.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a multi-disciplinary technical team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including presentation and communication.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • This role may involve some occasional travel.

The candidate must be eligible to work in the EU and must be able to travel to the US.
