Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead transformer mechanical design at the Global Engineering Center. You will work on tank externals, documentation, and cross-functional tasks across an international team to deliver compliant, robust designs.

The role requires extensive experience in transformer mechanical design, CAD/Creo proficiency, and strong collaboration across diverse teams.

Formación

• 9–12 years of experience in mechanical design for power transformers manufacturing.
• Strong CAD/3D modelling experience; Creo PLM is preferred.
• Knowledge of IS/ IEC/IEEE and Canadian standards.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written).

Responsabilidades

• Design tank externals meeting factory limitations, guidelines, and checklists per standards.
• Prepare customer documents, manufacturing drawings, BOMs per project schedule.
• Coordinate design activities within a worldwide factories network.
• Participate in internal design concept reviews.
• Collaborate with global technical teams to ensure alignment.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Power Transformer

The opportunity

As Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Transformer design at the Global Engineering Center in Vadodara, India, youll be part of a dynamic team that values innovation, diversity, and collaboration. How youll make an impact

• The success candidate will be the part of an International Design and Engineering Team specialized in design covering different countries.
• Responsible to generate Tank Externals meeting factory limitation, guideline, and checklist as per IEEE / IEC /IS standards.

• Responsible for Preparation of Customer documents, Manufacturing drawings, Bill of materials etc submission to customer as per project schedule.

• Understanding of Transformer mechanical design, Thermal, Dielectrics, Short circuit and sound performance and transformer mechanics

• Coordinating design activities within a worldwide factories network.
• Participation in internal design concept reviews.
• Demonstrated team building skills and networking skills, would be a preference.
• Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.

Your background

• B.E / B. Tech Mechanical Engineering.
• Having a good experience of standardization.
• 9 to12 years of experience working in Mechanical design for Power Transformers manufacturing Industry. Candidates with higher experience also to be considered.
• Knowledge on CAD software, any 3D Modelling software is a must. Creo PLM is considered as an advantage.
• Should understand Transformer Design, Mechanical Calculations, Dielectrics, clearance/creepage, basic layout and cleats lead arrangement.
• Should have good understanding of IS/ IEC /IEEE Standards/Canadian Standards
• Experience in winding design / Tank externals is an advantage
• Experience on Microsoft office and tools.
• Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.
• Demonstrated team building skills, would be a preference.
• Proficiency in both spoken written English language is required.
