Hitachi Energy seeks a Senior Research & Development Engineer for the Power Transformer RD team in Vadodara, India. You will lead electromagnetic design projects, drive innovation, and ensure delivery within deadlines and budgets.

You will collaborate globally with researchers and engineering teams, translate complex concepts into actionable guidance, and contribute to IP strategy while maintaining compliance and safety.

Formación

• Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5-10 years of experience with electromagnetic simulation tools (Ansys, Magnet, COMSOL) for design and FEM analysis.
• Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering, computational electromagnetics, and circuit analysis.
• Deep understanding of power transformer magnetic design, magnetic materials, and related testing techniques.
• Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, IEC standards related to transformers.
• Working knowledge of CAD modeling software (CREO).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proven ability to handle complex technical projects and lead technical teams.
• Willingness to travel to factories as needed.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical leadership for transformer electromagnetic design across concept development, simulation, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Lead electromagnetic design activities and simulations in RD projects.
• Generate, validate and industrialize new electromagnetic concepts to improve performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Document results via clear reports, specifications, and technical presentations; contribute to knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate globally with research scientists, engineering teams, and technology managers; build partnerships with customers and institutions.
• Support manufacturing and testing to resolve electromagnetic design and quality issues.
• Contribute to IP reviews and ensure compliance with external and internal regulations.
