Descripción de la vacante

Siemens Energy is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to design MV/LV transformer stations and prepare detailed electrical layouts in Madrid. You will specify transformers, switchgear, and LV boards, performing load flow and short-circuit analyses to optimize footprint and safety.

The role requires strong standards knowledge and collaboration with sales, production, and project teams, plus fluency in English and Italian.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3-7+ years of experience in MV distribution systems and transformer stations.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD/EPLAN and electrical calculation tools like ETAP or DIgSILENT.
  • Structured, detail-oriented approach, strong problem-solving skills, and cross-functional collaboration with sales, production, and project teams.
  • Experience with prefabricated substations, data center or industrial power distribution is a strong advantage.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Italian.

Responsabilidades

  • Design MV/LV transformer stations (10-36 kV / 0.4-1 kV), preparing single line diagrams, protection schemes, and cable layouts.
  • Specify key components like power transformers, MV switchgear (AIS/GIS/RMU), and LV switchboards, performing load flow, short-circuit, and voltage drop calculations.
  • Optimize layouts for footprint, cooling, accessibility, and safety, integrating enclosures, cable entry systems, and fire protection.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC standards, local grid codes, and support certification and type testing.
  • Collaborate with sales, project management, and suppliers, reviewing drawings, technical submittals, and providing technical clarifications.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Design MV/LV transformer stations (10-36 kV / 0.4-1 kV), preparing single line diagrams, protection schemes, and cable layouts.
  • Specify key components like power transformers, MV switchgear (AIS/GIS/RMU), and LV switchboards, performing load flow, short-circuit, and voltage drop calculations.
  • Optimize layouts for footprint, cooling, accessibility, and safety, integrating enclosures, cable entry systems, and fire protection.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC standards, local grid codes, and support certification and type testing.
  • You collaborate with sales, project management, and suppliers, reviewing drawings, technical submittals, and providing technical clarifications.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3-7+ years of experience in MV distribution systems and transformer stations, ideally with utilities, OEMs, or EPC contractors.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD/EPLAN and electrical calculation tools like ETAP or DIgSILENT.
  • You have a structured, detail-oriented approach, strong problem-solving skills, and enjoy working cross-functionally with sales, production, and project teams.
  • Experience with prefabricated substations, data center or industrial power distribution is a strong advantage.
  • Profficient in written and spoken English and Italian is mandatory
