The Role
As a Senior Marine Electrician within our Service department, based in Palma de Mallorca, you will play an important role in supporting the maintenance, repair and refit of Oyster yachts. Working across a wide range of advanced marine electrical systems, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality installation, commissioning, configuration and diagnostic work to the exceptional standards expected of Oyster Yachts.
This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong marine electrical knowledge, advanced troubleshooting skills and practical installation experience. You will work closely with owners, captains, contractors and the wider Oyster Service team to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Install, replace, configure, commission and diagnose Mastervolt and Victron Energy chargers and inverters
- Carry out advanced configuration, commissioning and troubleshooting of CZone digital switching and control systems
- Diagnose faults and replace Mastervolt alternators
- Install and troubleshoot Victron solar panels and MPPT solar charge controllers
- Calculate, size and select appropriate inverter capacity and battery-bank configurations for high-demand onboard loads
- Design and implement bespoke lithium battery power solutions, including complete technical installation and commissioning from initial design through to completion
- Conduct systematic electrical fault-finding and diagnostics across AC and DC systems onboard
- Carry out marine electrical installations, refits and system upgrades to a high professional standard
- Read, interpret and work accurately from complex electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering documentation
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and technical accuracy throughout all activities
- Work collaboratively with the wider Oyster Service team to ensure projects are completed efficiently and customer expectations are met
About You
- Proven professional experience working as an electrician within the marine or yachting industry
- Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience of 230V / 400V AC systems
- Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience of 12V / 24V DC systems
- Strong technical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills across marine electrical systems
- Experience with power management, system configuration and electrical system integration
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, with the ability to calculate and design bespoke power solutions
- Ability to work confidently from complex electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation
- Comfortable working safely in confined spaces and challenging onboard environments
- Advanced spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate effectively with international crews and understand technical documentation

Qualifications & Desirable Experience
- Experience installing and commissioning navigation and communication equipment, particularly B&G, Raymarine and Garmin systems
- Experience installing and wiring Wi-Fi, VHF, GPS and satellite antenna systems
- Good understanding of Ethernet installations, data cabling and onboard network configuration and routing
- Ability and willingness to work at height on masts and booms would be a significant advantage
