Job Description:

What You'll Do: We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join the Controllership team, reporting to the Global Controller. You will lead technical accounting initiatives for Criteo, focusing on revenue recognition. Your role will support our strategy to become the leading Commerce Media Platform, including product expansion and M&A activities. Your responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with stakeholders such as deal desk, Legal, and FP&A to review non-standard transactions for compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
  • Collaborating with the Global Controller and CFO to analyze complex accounting issues like segments, business combinations, and intangibles.
  • Managing closing and reporting processes, including ownership of SOX controls.
  • Defining accounting policies for the controllership and finance teams.

Missions:

  • Identifying and documenting accounting matters and policies, including preparing position papers and tracking unusual events.
  • Leading complex assessments such as business combinations, restructurings, and impairments.
  • Ensuring compliance with critical accounting estimates and policies per 10-K disclosures.
  • Providing guidance on various accounting topics, especially related to Treasury, UTP, and Provisions.
  • Reviewing new US GAAP, IFRS, and SEC standards for compliance.
  • Developing comprehensive accounting policies and collaborating on the creation of an accounting portal.

Revenue Recognition:

  • Partnering with Deal Desk and FP&A to identify and account for non-standard revenue transactions.
  • Advising on customer contracts for proper revenue recognition per ASC 606.
  • Reviewing contracts and maintaining dashboards for revenue disaggregation and compliance.

Closing, Reporting, and Controls:

  • Managing non-standard revenue deal processes and controls.
  • Conducting impairment assessments and ensuring accurate accounting treatments.
  • Assessing new US GAAP and IFRS standards annually.
  • Handling goodwill impairment tests, business combinations, and related accounting reconciliations.
  • Summarizing monthly/quarterly events for CFO and Audit Committee reporting.

Coaching and Leadership:

  • Providing guidance to finance stakeholders on accounting matters.
  • Developing training plans for the accounting and controllership teams.
  • Mentoring team members, especially in revenue recognition.
Who You Are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in technical accounting, auditing, and revenue operations.
  • Deep understanding of revenue recognition standards (ASC 606, IFRS 15).
  • Experience collaborating with sales on deal structures.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, results-driven, and adaptable.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in English and French (verbal and written).
  • Experience in advertising technology, SaaS, or related industries is a plus.
