You will shape the legal function by driving commercial contracting and providing legal support on GDPR and AI strategy. Your main goal will be to support the build-out of n8n’s legal function as a foundational hire — enabling our sales team to close complex deals at scale while shaping a modern, AI-first legal strategy.

Responsibilities include:

Drive commercial contracting

• Review, draft, and negotiate agreements including SaaS (cloud and on-prem), DPA, channel, partnership, and vendor contracts
• Partner with sales and revenue teams to drive deals to close
• Deliver creative, risk-based solutions that unlock revenue and protect the business

Partner on data, privacy, and AI

• Provide pragmatic legal advice on GDPR, international data transfers, CCPA, and other privacy frameworks
• Advise teams on legal implications of AI in product development and go-to-market strategies
• Help set a scalable approach to AI and privacy governance

Scale legal as a business enabler

• Collaborate with stakeholders to address legal questions in real-time
• Improve and maintain scalable legal templates, playbooks, and training materials
• Design and implement a self-serve legal portal and processes for a fast-scaling global team

Requirements include:

Must-haves

• Qualified lawyer (Europe-based) with 5+ years PQE, ideally with top-tier law firm and SaaS in-house experience
• Strong English fluency for clear communication
• Expertise in SaaS agreements, open-source licensing, and commercial deals
• Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and AI regulations
• Builder mindset: comfortable with ambiguity and problem-solving
• Cross-functional collaboration skills
