Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in commercial law and be fluent in English.

Descripción del empleo

A leading international technology company is seeking an experienced Commercial Counsel to join its legal team in Madrid on a contractor basis (6 months), with the potential for a permanent role based on performance and fit.

Location : Madrid, Spain

Work Setup : Hybrid – minimum 3 days per week on-site

Start Date : As soon as possible

About the Role :

As a Commercial Counsel , you will act as a trusted legal advisor to the company’s EMEA division. This is a dynamic, client-facing role where you will be responsible for supporting a range of commercial legal activities, including negotiating and drafting contracts, advising stakeholders, and ensuring legal compliance in high-value commercial transactions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business, procurement, and compliance teams.
  • Participate in negotiations with international partners and customers.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and relevant legal regulations.

Requirements :

  • Qualified lawyer in Spain (admitted to the Spanish bar).
  • At least 5 years' experience in commercial law, ideally within an international tech environment or a law firm advising multinational clients.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) is essential.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations and competing deadlines.

  • This role requires the flexibility to travel and participate in cross-border negotiations when necessary.
