Job Description

Purpose:
The role, with a significant Fintech component, is a key part of the Legal team, managing and advising on risk and legal liability to support the company’s growth plans. The main responsibilities include:

• Assisting the Fintech/Insurtech Team with the setup and implementation of initiatives according to the roadmap, ensuring strategic project development.
• Advising on day-to-day business decisions, contract review from a commercial and regulatory perspective, and providing legal risk assessments.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Providing legal assistance to the Fintech/Insurtech Team regarding new initiatives, monitoring relevant regulations.
• Advising on daily business decisions, reviewing contracts, especially focusing on regulatory compliance.
• Coordinating with other functions (Tax, Compliance, HR, IT Security) to provide aligned advice.
• Reviewing and improving current processes to adapt to HBX’s fast-paced environment.

Skills

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish is desirable.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Risk management, negotiation skills, attention to detail, autonomy, and adaptability.
• Ability to connect issues across different functions and work collaboratively.

Experience

• Minimum 6 years in similar roles, preferably as in-house counsel in a multinational or in a Fintech law firm.
• Experience working in multicultural environments.

Qualifications

• Law degree from a reputable institution; specialization in Fintech Law is desirable.
• Experience in Legal Fintech and Data Protection is valued.
• Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
