JOB DESCRIPTION: Purpose

This role, with a significant Fintech component, is a key part of the Legal team, managing and advising on risk and legal liability for the group as a Travel Tech Company, supporting our growth plans. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting the Fintech / Insurtech Team with the setup and implementation of initiatives according to the roadmap, ensuring strategic project development.
  2. Advising the team on daily business decisions, reviewing contracts from a commercial and regulatory perspective, and providing preventive legal counsel on requirements and risks.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Providing legal assistance on risks of new initiatives, monitoring regulations impacting HBX activities.
  2. Advising on daily business decisions, reviewing contracts with focus on regulatory compliance.
  3. Coordinating with functions like Tax, Compliance, HR, IT Security for aligned advice.
  4. Reshaping and simplifying current workflows, designing guidelines, and scalable processes with stakeholders.

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Risk management, negotiation skills, attention to detail, autonomy, and adaptability.
  • Ability to connect issues across different functions; team-oriented mindset.

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years in similar or related roles.
  • In-house counsel experience in a multinational, dealing with Fintech matters; law firm Fintech experience valued.
  • Experience in multicultural environments.

Qualifications

  • Law degree from a reputable institution.
  • Master or specialization in Fintech Law preferred.
  • Legal Fintech experience required; Data Protection experience desirable.
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages valued.
