JOB DESCRIPTION: Purpose

This role, with an important Fintech component, is a key part of the Legal team, managing and advising on risk and legal liability for the group as a Travel Tech Company, supporting our growth plans. Key responsibilities include:

1. Assisting the Fintech / Insurtech Team with the setup and implementation of initiatives according to the roadmap, ensuring strategic project development.
2. Advising the Fintech / Insurtech Team on daily business decisions, reviewing contracts from a commercial perspective, and considering global regulatory frameworks, providing preventive legal counsel and monitoring legal risks.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Providing legal assistance to the Fintech / Insurtech Team on risks related to new initiatives, considering commercial and regulatory aspects, and monitoring new regulations impacting HBX.
2. Advising on daily business decisions, reviewing contracts, and focusing on regulatory compliance.
3. Coordinating with other functions (e.g., Tax, Compliance, HR, IT Security) to deliver aligned advice to the Fintech / Insurtech Group.
4. Reviewing and improving current workflows to adapt to HBX’s fast-paced environment, including developing guidelines and scalable processes with relevant stakeholders.

Skills

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish is desirable.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills, capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.

• Good negotiation skills to handle complex situations with stakeholders and external parties.

Experience

• At least 6 years in similar or related roles.
• Experience as in-house counsel in a multinational company dealing with Fintech matters; experience in a law firm’s Fintech Department is valued.
• Experience working in multicultural and multinational environments.

Qualifications

• Law degree from a reputable institution.
• Master’s or specialization in Fintech Law is desirable.
• Proven experience in Legal Fintech.
• Experience with Data Protection is a plus.
• Proficiency in English at a business level is required; additional languages are valued.
