At Planner 5D, we are looking for a Senior / Lead DevOps Specialist to join our team and work on improving and maintaining our IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  1. Management, purchase, and maintenance of infrastructure hardware/services (Hetzner, Amazon, Google Cloud, LeaderGPU)
  2. Research and testing of new big solutions (e.g., TiDB, Kafka, Hadoop, ...)
  3. Launch, maintenance, and monitoring of:
  4. Front-end, load balancing, mirrors, CDN, and DNS (nginx, haproxy, powerdns, ...)
  5. Application servers (PHP)
  6. Container orchestration (Docker Swarm and Kubernetes)
  7. Monitoring and alerting (Grafana, Proeteus, Loki, ...)
  8. Caching and queue servers (Redis, Hazelcast, RabbitMQ, ...)
  9. Multiple datacenters around the world
  10. Other internal services/servers (VPN, analytics, mailing, ...)
  11. Virtual and dedicated servers
  12. Programming for infrastructure using Python, with understanding of code and how servers/services are used in code to architect solutions and troubleshoot issues (primarily in Python, sometimes in Java, PHP, etc.)
  13. Implement best practices in security, performance optimization, and maintainability
  14. Manage and mentor the infrastructure team, improve workflows, and participate in proactive infrastructure management

Required knowledge:

  1. Strong programming skills, ideally with experience as a software engineer (Java, Python, etc.)
  2. Deep expertise in Linux administration (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS), networking, and system security
  3. Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and similar container orchestration and scaling technologies
  4. Experience with on-premise infrastructure, including server clusters, database management, caching, and networking
  5. Experience with databases (MariaDB, MongoDB), message brokers, load balancers, and other production servers (Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, nginx, HAProxy, ...)
  6. Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools (GitLab CI/CD, Ansible, Kubernetes)
  7. Monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, ...)
  8. A strong engineering mindset to bridge development and infrastructure needs, understanding new and legacy technologies
  9. Experience in mentoring, process improvement, and proactive infrastructure management; potential to grow into a Team Lead role
