Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Senior Software Developer for the Elasticsearch team. You will help ensure shared platform functionalities are easy to use, fast, maintainable, and secure, building foundational infrastructure and enabling developers to extend Elasticsearch.

You will lead cross-team projects, design scalable features, and drive automation while collaborating with Elastic users and open source initiatives.

Formación

• Experience crafting APIs and ability to reason through tradeoffs.
• Proficient in algorithms and data structures.
• Strong Java skills and familiarity with data structures and concurrency constructs.
• Experience with low-level Java: concurrency, parallelism, classloaders.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and practices (Buildkite, Argo CD, GitOps).
• Experience leading large-scale projects across engineering teams.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to large, impactful projects that evolve core infrastructure of Elasticsearch.
• Identify opportunities for automation to improve developer productivity and integrate agentic apps into workflows.
• Design and implement horizontally-scalable features and APIs in Elasticsearch.
• Tackle difficult performance or concurrency issues and propose solutions.
• Improve operation and observability of Elasticsearch cloud systems.
• Collaborate openly with the ES team, Elastic users, and open source projects.
• Support our engineers with complex problems and own investigations end-to-end.
