Descripción del empleo

Work as part of a small and autonomous core technology team to support our new generation of games. You will challenge and refine our way of working with internal technology.

As a developer, you have an interest in understanding the whole tech stack, good analytical capabilities, and write well-structured code. You are comfortable working with a complicated codebase and have a great sense of what is performant and scalable. You're proactive, able to work independently, and communicate effectively with the rest of the tech organization.

YOUR ROLE WITHIN OUR KINGDOM

As our Java Backend Developer, you will be part of a team responsible for building and maintaining technology to support the studio in creating new franchises. This includes integrating with existing tech, developing new solutions, investigating reported issues, and coaching fellow developers. You will collaborate closely with game teams in a creative, challenging, and collaborative environment where your ideas and programming skills are valued.

You will work in a dynamic environment driven by a changing studio portfolio and game team needs. You should be a fast learner with a positive attitude, passionate about new technology, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality work, automating processes, and continuous improvement.

SKILLS TO CREATE THRILLS

You are passionate about system development, new technologies, large-scale systems, and games. You are an excellent communicator, capable of translating business needs into technical requirements. You embrace DevOps practices, promoting code to production and maintaining it there. Additional skills include:

• Architecting, designing, and implementing components, features, and systems in Java.
• Experience working on live game products with a large active user base.
• Knowledge of databases and web development.
• Supporting game servers from a Level 3 perspective, investigating escalated issues.
• Experience with UNIX environments and Git.
• Effective communication with ops teams, client developers, and backend developers.
• Mentoring junior developers and collaborating across teams.
• Experience developing backend for mobile apps.
• Experience with C# and Unity engine.

BONUS POINTS

• Experience with Gradle build systems.
• Experience with Jenkins or other CI systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with GCP / GKE.
