Senior Interior Designer with extensive experience in luxury hotels and resorts. This position is on-site in Madrid.

The firm :

A reference in the luxury hotel sector and a fast growing group operating luxury resorts in unique coastal locations in the Mediterranean.

Professional profile and qualifications for the position :

We are looking for an Interior Design Specialist, SIG who is passionate about architectural design in the luxury hotel sector, with a strategic vision and ability to innovate in the field of architecture and design. The ideal candidate will have experience in overseeing design processes developed by external architecture and design firms for new projects within the group. It is essential that you share our vision to deliver unparalleled hospitality experiences and contribute to the continued growth of the luxury hospitality sector.

Main responsibilities and duties :

• Support the Senior Interior Design Manager in the supervision of the design process carried out by external Architecture and Design studios for new Group projects.
• Transform these concepts into creative and exceptional designs.
• Create visual and technical documentation, including inspiration boards, sketches, CAD drawings, Photoshop work and 3D models, in collaboration with the design team.
• Assist in the formulation of Group Design Guidelines for application to future projects by internal and external teams.
• Research and develop FF&F designs (furniture, fixtures and fittings), prepare presentations, design bespoke furniture, specify technical details and undertake site visits to monitor construction progress.
• Manage own and other team members' time and workload to meet project deadlines and commitments.

Professional skills required :

• University and / or Master's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture or related field.
• More than 8 years of experience in architectural design in luxury hotel projects.
• Sound knowledge of the conceptualisation and design process, project documentation and material specifications.
• In-depth knowledge of the relationship between the design team, the hotel operator and other consultants.
• Collaborative and professional work ethic.
• Professional command of both English (interview will be conducted in English) and Spanish.
• International experience in projects of similar scale.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, listening and writing skills.
• Excellent presentation skills for clients.
• Ability to organise and work as part of a team.
• Used to working in fast-paced environments, managing time and resource priorities.
• Portuguese will be considered a strong asset.
• 3D skills will be an advantage (3D Max, SketchUp, Rhino, etc.)
• Project management and team coordination skills.
• Postgraduate degree in master planning, interior design or related areas.
• Knowledge of Agile Methodologies and Design Thinking applied to interior design.
• Availability to travel, occasionally, in international territory (EU).
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments, managing time and resource priorities.
• Must be an organised team player. Proactivity and leadership skills.
• Results oriented and able to take responsibility.
• Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to different roles as required.
• Passion for design and professional development. Dynamic person involved in innovating and suggesting improvements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in digital tools and management platforms.
• Strategic vision and results orientation.
• Autonomy to develop your work. Ability to generate work and meet objectives.
• Warmth, enthusiasm and friendliness (especially when facing the client).
• Ability to manage several projects at the same time. Multitask.
