Job summary

Pasiona Consulting Sl in Barcelona is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join our regional IT operations team. You will design, build, and run enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, storage, and OS environments to maintain high availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or equivalent.
• Certifications in Microsoft, VMware, Red Hat, Cisco or ITIL preferred.
• +5 years of Infra/Systems Operations experience in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on with VMware ESXi, Windows Server and RHEL.
• Familiar with data center hardware (Dell/HPE/Fujitsu) and storage.
• Active Directory administration; basic networking (Cisco).
• Scripting with PowerShell, Bash and Python to automate tasks.
• Fluent English in writing and speaking; strong collaboration across teams.
• Willing to travel as required; experience with monitoring and reliability.
• Knowledge of ITIL/DevOps/Agile; drive continuous improvements.

In this role, you will be responsible for technical design, build, and run duties across enterprise IT infrastructure, virtualization, storage, and operating systems. You will play a key role in maintaining high system availability, executing patching and vulnerability remediations, deploying changes, and driving service delivery improvements at a global and regional scale.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

• Infrastructure Management: Maintain SLAs for all supported infrastructure, handling incident, service request, and change tickets within ITSM queues.
• Design, Build & Operations: Perform technical design, build, and run activities for enterprise infrastructure, virtualization (VMware ESXi), storage, and OS environments (Windows Server & RHEL).
• Patching & Security Remediation: Support routine system patching, vulnerability assessments, and security remediations across all infrastructure assets.
• Hardware & Systems Support: Support data center hardware (Dell, HPE, Fujitsu), enterprise business applications, global contact centers, and agile office solutions.
• Automation & Improvement: Apply scripting and automation techniques to standardize environments, reduce manual effort, and continuously improve service delivery.
• Troubleshooting & Incident Resolution: Analyze, evaluate, and rapidly resolve technical incidents and complex problems at local, regional, and international levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• Certifications (Preferred): Professional certifications in Microsoft, VMware (VCP), Red Hat (RHCE), Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), or IT Security/ITIL.
• Experience: +5 years of experience as an Infrastructure / Systems Operations Engineer in enterprise environments.
• Operating Systems & Virtualization: Strong hands-on expertise with VMware ESXi, Windows Server, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Hardware & Storage: Familiarity with enterprise data center hardware (Dell, HPE, Fujitsu) and storage solutions.
• Directory Services & Networking: Proficient in Active Directory administration and basic network/switching principles (Cisco).
• Automation & Scripting: Practical experience with scripting techniques (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to standardize and control IT environments.
• Languages & Communication: Business fluency in English (written and verbal) with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across international teams.
• Mobility: Willingness to undertake business travel as required.
• Monitoring & Reliability: Hands-on experience with infrastructure monitoring, alerting tools, and ensuring high system reliability/availability.
• Security Tooling: Experience with vulnerability management and cloud security platforms (e.g., Qualys, Skyhigh, or similar tools).
• Frameworks & Methodologies: Working knowledge of ITIL service management, DevOps practices, and Agile frameworks.
• Continuous Improvement: Proven capability to propose, design, and implement new operational processes and efficiency enhancements.
