Huxley is looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager based in Barcelona. The role involves managing IT infrastructure, ensuring high service quality while driving continuous improvements. The position demands expertise in Windows and Linux administration, experience with virtualization technologies, and proficiency in scripting and automation.

The work model is hybrid, allowing flexibility with the opportunity for remote work. The contract is freelance for one year with possible extension, with an ASAP start date.

Project Description

The team will take on new functionalities and an increased workload, creating the need to bring in an external profile to support the management and evolution of the IT infrastructure, ensuring high operational service quality and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and technical projects.

Key Profile Points

• Windows and Linux systems administration
• Virtualization (VMware, Hyper V) in hybrid environments
• Knowledge of VIM and troubleshooting in Linux environments
• Experience in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Terraform, Ansible, GitHub)
• Backup management and backup infrastructure
• Collaborative mindset, positive attitude, and teamwork skills

Daily Tasks

• Daily service monitoring ensuring high operational quality
• Management of critical P1/P2 incidents as technical owner
• Incident reduction through problem management and continuous improvement
• Support in new requests, changes, and infrastructure evolution
• Participation in technical projects and assessments
• Administration of on-premise infrastructures (Windows/Linux, hardware, SAN, virtualization)
• Management and optimization of VMware and Hyper V environments
• Automation of operational tasks (provisioning, patching, configuration, reporting)
• Continuous improvement of infrastructure security
• Obsolescence management and environment upgrades
• IT asset and inventory management
• Collaboration with application, connectivity, security, and cloud teams

Essential Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management
• Windows and Linux systems administration
• Experience in virtualization (VMware, Hyper V) in hybrid environments
• Experience with VIM and troubleshooting in Linux environments
• Scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Terraform, Ansible, GitHub)
• Backup management and backup infrastructures
• Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS and Azure)
• Networking and connectivity protocols knowledge
• Patch management (Azure Arc, SCCM, WSUS, AWS SSM, etc.)
• Server administration (including hardware)
• Storage and SAN systems experience
• Infrastructure monitoring and performance troubleshooting
• ITIL knowledge
• Fluent English
• Teamwork skills
• Based in Barcelona

Nice to Have

• Technical certifications (Microsoft, Azure, VMware, Veeam, automation)
• Experience with DELL VSAN / VxRail infrastructure
• Experience with Dynatrace
