Responsibilities

As a Storage Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, operating, scaling, maintaining, and evolving Workato's enterprise-grade storage infrastructure. You will work closely with engineering & infrastructure teams, leading our global storage strategy for various use cases, scenarios, and enterprise-grade real-time latency-critical requirements at a global scale. You will collaborate with engineering leadership and have a strategic impact on the modernization and evolution of the Workato architecture. You should be an expert in distributed storage systems, understanding their internals and principles, and capable of contributing hands-on to storage infrastructure as code, monitoring, and analysis.

This role requires deep knowledge of computer systems, troubleshooting skills, and experience with modern infrastructure tools such as IaC, cloud storage (preferably AWS), and container orchestration systems like Kubernetes. Knowledge of reliability metrics, security, auditability, and compliance in storage systems is highly valued.

Workato's storage layer is based on technologies like PostgreSQL, Redis, Clickhouse, and MySQL/MariaDB, deployed in various environments. The role involves scaling, automating, securing, and modernizing this storage layer to meet rapidly growing business needs, including automation, scalability, observability, cost management, and long-term architecture redesign.

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills

• 5+ years of experience deploying and supporting scalable distributed enterprise-grade in-memory data stores.
• Experience with Redis environments, including ElastiCache, Redis Enterprise, or self-managed clusters, with high availability.
• Deep understanding of Redis ecosystem, modules, Sentinel, clustering, and related technologies.
• Experience with Redis optimization, migrations, and high-availability architectures.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
• Knowledge of security, compliance, and disaster recovery strategies for Redis systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot performance issues and build observability for Redis deployments.
• Basic programming skills in languages like Python or Go, and familiarity with Redis client libraries.
• Experience designing geo-distributed Redis solutions with low RTO/RPO targets.

Soft Skills / Personal Characteristics

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in international teams.
• Ability to work remotely across different time zones.
• Strong analytical skills with a hands-on approach.
