Job summary

Arghos in Madrid seeks a Senior Industrial Safety Engineer to drive industrial safety engineering efforts across energy projects and process plants. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with ATEX, licensing, and regulatory requirements throughout design and execution phases.

The role emphasizes hazard assessment, permitting, and technical verification of safety deliverables, with English/Spanish proficiency to collaborate on international documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in Industrial Safety Engineering within Process Plants, Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical or related sectors.
• Identification and assessment of release sources; Industrial Permitting and Licensing; APQ Regulations; Pressure Equipment Regulations; Industrial Regulatory Compliance.
• Desirable: Fire Protection Engineering; Safety Design Criteria Development; Process Safety Engineering.
• Spanish and English level B2 or higher; ability to work with international engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Development and management of industrial safety engineering deliverables and regulatory compliance documentation.
• Hazardous Area Classification (ATEX) and assessment of release sources in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Execution of industrial licensing and permitting activities associated with APQ regulations, Pressure Equipment legislation and other statutory requirements.
• Technical verification of engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with safety regulations, project specs and client requirements.
• Preparation of technical specifications for industrial safety systems and facilities.
• Technical review and evaluation of vendor documentation and supplier proposals (TBE).
• Participation in multidisciplinary design reviews and technical coordination meetings.
