Senior IBM-AIX Engineer

Our goal is to strengthen the brand in Spain. We are looking for you to work as IBM-AIX Engineer. The Senior IBM-AIX Engineer is responsible for driving technical service resolution and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through providing pre and post-sales technical/functional support to current and prospective customers. This position is responsible for providing systems engineering support for Company clients in a 24X7 service organization.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Act as a lead customer issue resolution engineer and take ownership of all assigned tickets.
2. Experience in doing Knowledge Transitions and working as a customer lead.
3. Drawing upon concepts of tools, technologies, and methodologies to collaborate with other technical specialists.
4. Effective negotiation with technical peers and customers to implement technical solutions.
5. Maintaining skills to the current industry level of certification.
6. Analyzing technical problems and creating solutions involving the use of existing techniques and/or tools.
7. Performing assigned tasks in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
8. Preparing and recommending technical alternatives involving technology, methodology, tools, processes, and solution components.
9. Assisting the Project Manager by providing a technical project coordination role.
10. Liaising with relevant support teams for all clients to ensure they are informed about relevant progress and issues relating to Unix server management.
11. Abiding by Change Management and Problem Management procedures, including complying with the Service Level Agreements.
12. Create regular reports for Management requirements.

Work Experience:

Overall 8 to 12 years of Unix System Administration Experience, with at least 7 years in an AIX environment. AIX Certification / HACMP Certification / TSM Certification will be an added advantage.

Mandatory:

1. Adequate Knowledge of AIX platform, and strong fundamentals.
2. Strong Knowledge & Experience in AIX.
3. Good Understanding of troubleshooting & AIX Commands.
4. Strong experience in interfacing with external devices like Storage, Networking, and backup devices.
5. Experience on the following layered products is Mandatory: HACMP, HMC/LPARs, NIM, VIOS, SP/PSSP/CSM.
6. Capability to plan and execute UNIX Security.
7. Strong concepts of networking like TCP/IP.
8. Loading of software, Networking, TCP/IP, NFS, NIS & DNS.
9. Added experience in DCE/DFS, Workload balancing, Power7 virtualization.

Qualification:

Engineering Degree from Premier Institute (Electronics, Computer Science etc.)
