Job summary

Impress, founded in Barcelona, is seeking a Senior Accountant to own day-to-day accounting across multiple entities and ensure compliance. You will lead the General Ledger, month-end close, and reporting for assigned entities, working closely with local teams.

Based in Barcelona, you will drive AR/AP processes, tax filings, and statutory reporting while supporting ERP transformation and Finance-wide initiatives in a fast-growing international HealthTech scale-up. Fluency in English is essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional proficiency in English; Spanish a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GL, reconciliations and closing.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day accounting activities for designated scope and report timely.
• Manage General Ledger and ensure accurate records.
• Support month-, quarter-, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare financial information for assigned entities and filings.
• Ensure compliance with local rules, regulations and policies.

We are growing fast, and our Finance team plays a key role in supporting this international expansion.

We are now looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in Barcelona.

What you’ll be doing

You will take ownership of the day-to-day accounting activities for your designated scope, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely reporting.

• Manage daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities.
• Prepare and post journal entries and perform account reconciliations.
• Take ownership of the General Ledger and ensure accurate and timely accounting records.
• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare financial information and reporting for your assigned entities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting rules, regulations and internal policies.
• Act as a senior subject matter expert on accounting matters.

You will contribute to ensuring that our entities remain fully compliant with local accounting and tax requirements.

• Manage statutory accounting activities for your designated area.
• Prepare the information required for monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings.
• Support other statutory and regulatory filings.
• Ensure accounting practices are aligned with local regulations and Group policies.
• Work closely with external advisors when required.

You will also contribute to maintaining strong and efficient AR/AP accounting processes.

• Record, create and distribute invoices related to monthly fees and royalties.
• Maintain accurate Accounts Receivable balances.
• Prepare ACH files for collections where applicable.
• Support the accounting treatment of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
• Drive best practices and identify opportunities to improve AR/AP processes.

4. Process Improvement & Finance Transformation

At Impress, we are constantly evolving. You will have the opportunity to go beyond traditional accounting and help shape how our Finance function operates.

• Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Help standardize and automate processes across our international organization.
• Participate in Finance transformation projects and initiatives.
• Provide analytical support for ad hoc projects and business needs.

5. Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management

You will work closely with both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders across the organization.

• Act as a key point of contact for accounting-related questions.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve accounting issues and provide guidance.
• Explain accounting procedures and requirements to business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Finance teams across different countries and functions.
• Work with internal and external auditors and support audit processes when required.

What we’re looking for

• 6+ years of professional accounting experience, ideally in a similar Senior Accountant / GL Accountant / Financial Accountant role.
• Strong knowledge of General Ledger accounting, reconciliations and financial closing processes.
• Experience with ERP / Finance systems and ideally involvement in ERP implementation or transformation projects. Advanced Excel skills.
• Bachelor's degree or associate's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional proficiency in English. Spanish and/or other languages are a plus.
